Calligraphy at the Thomas Wedding

This weekend our good friends Jessica and Aaron married each other on a perfect August day. I had the pleasure of working on their place cards, table numbers and a chalkboard hash tag sign (the morning of the wedding!) Since my husband and I were in the bridal party, I didn't carry my camera for super fine shots but iphone photos will have to do on this post!

Time: about 25 minutes

For a chalkboard, I usually sketch out my idea on scrap paper and then visualize placement on the board. I use a chalk marker because it gives me super fine lines and its much darker than using chalk. To remove, just wipe off with a damp cloth and fix minor errors with a Q-tip or the edge of a napkin.

Time: about 8 hours in total

Process: I ordered place cards (and 15% extra) about a month before the wedding. I also purchased ribbon matching the wedding colors when I picked up the place cards. For more details (list of materials and where to purchase materials) check out my place card blog post
